It is never too early to speak with an attorney about estate planning. While many people do not want to think about what will happen to their estates and assets after they pass on, it is a necessary part of life.

Probate administration is the legal process needed to prove the will of a deceased person is valid or to assign assets if no will is provided.

From Fort Hood to Killeen
After serving as a JAG Legal Assistance Officer, Ted Smith opened his law office in Killeen, Texas, and has been practicing as a lawyer in the Killeen and Bell County area since 1976. Ted not only chose Killeen as the location for his law practice, he also chose to heavily invest his personal time to better the community.

Community-minded
From 1987 to 1992, Ted served as the President of the Killeen Food Care Center. The Killeen Food Care Center is a non-profit, faith-based effort to provide food to those who are hungry. Additionally, the Killeen Food Care Center annex also provides clothing and household goods at very little cost.
While Ted’s accomplishments in the Killeen Community are important to him, nothing gives him greater joy than helping the disabled citizens of Killeen get the disability benefits they deserve.
No matter if you call it Killeen, Bell County, or Central Texas, Ted calls it home.
Help with claims, medical documentation, denials, appeals, hearings, and SSA communication.
Practical conversations about wills, trusts, powers of attorney, beneficiaries, and family planning.
Guidance for families dealing with wills, estates, property, debts, heirs, and the next court step.
Help after serious accidents, medical bills, lost wages, and insurance pressure.
Ted served as Harker Heights City Attorney and Chamber of Commerce Chair, and was president of the Killeen Food Care Center from 1987 to 1992. Those civic roles run alongside decades of Killeen legal practice.
“Mr Ted Smith represented me with my Social Security disability. They worked very hard to get my benefits.”
